Juli Baltulioniene is the founder and creative director of Juli Lash Studio — an award-winning lash artist whose journey began not with a business plan, but with a passion.
With a background in Molecular Biology and over a decade of hands-on experience, Juli brings a rare blend of scientific precision and artistic intuition to the beauty industry. What started in 2011 as a hobby during maternity leave has grown into one of the UK’s most respected lash studios.
In just over a year, Juli won 9 international lash competition awards, earning the prestigious title “World Lash Expert 2016” in Paris. Since then, she has trained hundreds of professionals, judged global championships, and created educational programmes that shape the next generation of lash artists.
At the heart of everything Juli does is a belief in transformation — not just of appearance, but of confidence, career, and self-worth. Today, her mission is simple but powerful:
To empower women.
To nurture true artistry.
And to create a calm, beautiful space where both clients and team members can thrive.
2011,
I was living in London, on maternity leave, and taking a break from my Master’s degree in Biochemistry. I was far from home, learning English, raising my baby — and searching for something of my own.
One quiet afternoon, I had my first lash extensions applied. That small experience sparked something. A curiosity. A hobby. A tiny thread of passion.
Over the next few years, between raising my child and studying, I practised lashing on friends. I had no business plan — only a fascination with the precision, patience, and artistry that lashes required. It was meditative. It felt like me.
In 2015, I was accepted to Imperial College London to study Biochemical Research — a dream I had worked hard for. But just before my course began, I decided to enter one lash competition “just to finish the chapter.” With no model and little preparation, I unexpectedly took 2nd place in the Russian Volume Master category.
That moment changed everything.
I tried to do both — studying science and running a growing lash business — but by October, it became clear:
I couldn’t follow two passions.
I had to choose.
I chose lashes.
And I’ve never looked back.
Within one year, I had won 9 international awards and opened my first salon — Juli Lash Studio in Reading, Berkshire.
What began as a side hobby became a sanctuary.
Not just for clients, but for women — for my team.
